The French Bioinformatics Institute (IFB; france-bioinformatique.fr) is a national infrastructure in biology and health that federates 35 regional platforms and associated teams, as well as a coordinating unit, IFB-core (UAR CNRS 3601). The IFB is also the French node of the European Bioinformatics Research Infrastructure ELIXIR (ESFRI).
The IFB's missions are :
1. Pooling of resources and investments of French bioinformatics platforms, by ensuring the coherence and adequacy of developments in bioinformatics infrastructures and services at the national level, as well as their articulation with European initiatives (ISFRI and H2020, in particular).
2. The provision of and access to data resources in the life sciences as well as support for researchers (private and public) in biology, health, agronomy and the environment, through expertise, services, training, shared skills and methodological development.
3. The development of a shared strategic vision of the field to maintain France at the highest level of expertise in biological data analysis.
4. Strengthening the international representation of the French bioinformatics community, in particular within the European network ELIXIR.
ATTENTION, for administrative reasons the position is posted in Evry, but the person will be recruited in Paris Gare de Lyon at the management center of our institute.
The candidate will be integrated into the host team, and will participate in IFB working groups relevant to his/her mission. Occasionally, national and international travel may be organized for project meetings and organizations of the Institute and our partners.
Experience and education
