The Institut Français de Bioinformatique (IFB) publishes its 2019-2020 activity report, summarizing the objectives, achievements, and ongoing projects at national and international level in the context of the European infrastructure ELIXIR.
This report summarizes the activities of our platforms and teams in all the application domains of bioinformatics, with a particular focus on health. In the exceptional context of the COVID-19 sanitary crisis, 2020 has been a particularly active year: in addition to continuing our usual activities, IFB has set up a COVID-19 task force which supports the national and international efforts to combat the pandemic.
IFB has been evaluated very positively; its funding renewed until 2025 by the Ministry of Research (MESRI) and by the National Research Agency (ANR). This support is reinforced by the strong involvement of our research organisms (CNRS, Inserm, INRAe, CEA), and by several newly granted large-scale projects.
